Sports Activities
All students at Spectrum are encouraged to actively take part in sports activities. Every week on Thursdays the last Two lessons are allocated for sports activities. Students are taken for both indoor and outdoor activities during these two hours.
Different Sports activities at Spectrum
Athletics
The school has three houses namely: Amethyst, Emerald and Topaz. The annual Inter House Athletics Meet is held during the first term in each academic year. Students take part and receive awards and prizes for field and track events. The inter house sports meet gives an opportunity for the students to show the qualities of true sportsmanship and builds team spirit.
Cricket
Cricket is one of the popular games in the South Asia including Sri Lanka. This is also the same with Spectrum. The students also have the opportunity to take part in the annual inter house cricket tournament and receive trophies and awards.
Swimming
Students from the Nursery to Advanced Level enjoy having swimming lessons at Spectrum College. Swimming is one of very popular activities amongst the students at Spectrum.
Basket Ball
Basketball is very popular amongst the students at our Rajagiriya branch. A Basketball championship is held every year which turns out to be a successful event.
Futsal & Soccer
Futsal or indoor football is highly popular amongst the boys. However, since recently the girls also seem to have taking part in the annual inter –class futsal tournament.
Badminton
Badminton is another popular sports activity where a badminton championship is held annually to help the students show their interest and talents in the game.
Other Games
Table Tennis and pool tables are amongst the other popular games offered to students at Spectrum College.
